Agatha Fete 2014

THE ROTARY Agatha Fete is one of the most fun-filled dates in our calendar. Everyone enjoys the fun and frolics of the 1920s, stepping back in time to the heyday of our most famous crime-writer Agatha Christie.

Centred around the beautiful Torquay Pavilion and the nearby gardens, last year's event attracted more than 8,000 visitors throughout the day. Attractions include traditional games, rides, side-shows and stalls all manned by volunteers dressed in attire dating back to the 1920s and '30s. Around 30 charities benefitted from last year's fun day which is a fine example of Rotary in action.

On the day, our Rotary club's very own Christie Dancers who wow the crowds with their Charleston routines. Our Rotary members work very hard on providing mouth-watering food from the barbecue, bargains on the bric-a-brac stall and our tombola is always one of the most popular attractions. A wealth of wonderful live entertainment completes the day with guests such as the Big Noise Chorus, the Heather and Gorse Clogg Dancers and the Torbay Brass Band.
